Welcome to the Morris Yacht & Beach Club. Located on scenic
City Island,
New York, the Morris offers its members and their families
a complete yachting facility for power and sail, a beautiful 5-acre park with a
breathtaking view of Long Island Sound, a sand beach for swimming and
sun-bathing, and a 100-car parking lot for easy access.
Early in the morning of March 9, 2006, a five-alarm fire devastated our 150 year-old clubhouse, shown on the right as it appeared in 2002. Luckily, no one was seriously injured and members' boats were not damaged. And, though the clubhouse is gone, the club is alive, the sunsets still warm our hearts, our spirit is strong, and our members have vowed to rebuild and make the Morris even better than before.
Thanks to the hard work and support of our members, our boating seasons continue to be successful, with a full complement of staff and many exciting new events on the schedule. The beach and lawn are in great shape, the Club continues to attract new members, and our modern 25-ton boat lift system is fully operational and ready for the 2008 season.
We invite you to support the Morris by becoming a member. You can join as a boat owner, or if you don't own a boat but are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the summer, you are welcome to join us as an Associate. Whatever form of membership is right for you, you can play a significant role in the rich 100-year history of the Morris.
